pitanje
Hello Doctor! I was diagnosed with chondromalacia patella 6 months ago and Doctor asked me to do some basic stretching exercises. But right now my pain has increased and I have the pain radiating from the knee to the thigh and the calf muscles. I also observed that there is lack of muscle growth in my injured leg even after working out but there is enough muscle growth in the other leg. I am taking NSAID's ( Ibuprofen with paracetamol) for pain relief these days, as the pain increases during night and it disturbs my sleep. could you please suggest me the next step towards this problem. I have attached my X-ray which was taken 6 months ago
Thank you in advance! Shahin

Dear Shanin,
X-ray shows only lateral view of the knee. It is necessery to have the anterior view, too.
Acording to your age, chondromalacia is a common condition. I suggest you to perform na MRI of the knee (ina Novi Sad you can schedule by phone 021 424 777, VMR). With MRI finidng, I need to examine you and to decide what treatment is most suitable for you. For younger patients I prefere treatment with autologus conditionig plasma or hyaluronic acid and combine physical therapy.
